SUBHEAVY 2ND BIRTHDAY BASH - THE BIG ONE! COKI, KROMESTAR AND YOUNGSTA

BASS HEADS GET DIS.

Thats right peeps its our 2nd birthday so we thought we'd celebrate with an almighty BOOM!

After 2 years of bringing you the best djs from the scene this is without a doubt our best line up to date so prepare yourselves for a night of sub bass mentalism from 3 of the top boys in the business all making there first apperances in plymouth...

COKI (DMZ/Tempa/Deep Medi)

The other half of Digital Mystikz (after his co producer mala smashed it at SUBHEAVY last year), Coki has been responsible for countless club bangers over the years. Most notably, 'Night' which he produced with Benga, helped push raise dubstep's profile massively. His remix of Movado's 'Gangster for Life', & the epic 'Spongebob' (on DMZ's label) get dancefloor reactions like no other! One of the pioneers of the scene, his earlier works featuring on all the scene's biggest labels, such as Tortured/Shattered (Tempa), 'All of a Sudden' (Deep Medi) & Red Eye (Big Apple) helped define the genre. More recent releases such as Road Rage & Bloodthirst show he's still at the top of his game.

YOUNGSTA (Rinse Fm / Tempa)

Youngsta started DJing aged 12, and by 13 he was playing on London Pirate radio station Freek FM. By day he works at the seminal Soho record shop, Blackmarket, by night you can catch him on leading pirate Rinse FM, the station that's home to Plasticman, Wiley and Roll Deep, and that broke Dizzee Rascal. Youngsta has been pivotal in the explosion of the dubstep scene, masterfully mixing the finest dubplates about. He's now at the top of his game, and is known as one of the world’s top dubstep djs, alongside N Type & Hatcha. Highlights of his career include mixing Volumes 2 & and also 4 (b2b with Hatcha) of the legendary Dubstep Allstars cds.

KROMESTAR (Dubstar / Dub Police/ Deep Medi)

Kromestar’s prolific and stunningly consistent portfolio of productions has encompassed grime (under one of his aliases, Iron Soul (he also produces under the name Droid)), bassline and numerous different slants on dubstep. He’s put out tunes on countless labels including his own labels (Kromestar Recordings & Dubstar), Dub Police, Deep Medi, Southside Dubstars, Z Audio, Dubsteppers, Marxmen, Bare Dubs, Fantastic & more! The club banger, ‘Kalawanji’ (on Deep Medi, featuring Cessman) is widely acclaimed as a defining dubstep anthem, and pushed Kromestar into the limelight. From the dub/reggae infused ‘Notorious’ and ‘Here We Come’ to his deeper 4x4 numbers (note ‘Focuz’ on Dub Police & recent collaborations with Hatcha, ‘The Brothers Grimm’ & ‘Heavyweight’ EPs), to wobbly dancefloor smashers like 'Serial Killers' and recently 'Crackpipe' (with F-One), Kromestar is definitely one to watch this year...
