Bit late on the posting but for anyone who didn't know the park is now no more!
RIP Central Park Version 1
Official council release below.
Closure and replacement of Central Park Skateboard Park
Building work on the Life Centre has begun. The Skateboard Park now needs to be demolished so a car park and access road, which will serve the Life Centre, can be constructed.
The Skateboard Park will be closing on Monday 15th March.
Alternative ramps are available at the following locations:
• Chaddlewood, Plympton
• Peacock Meadow, Plympton
• Kit Hill Park, Barne Barton
Our Youth Service has access to mobile skateboard ramps (through Stonehouse Play Association) which it hopes to make available to skaters in the Mayflower Centre as well as other locations across the city. Details will be available shortly.
There is also a pay-to-use indoor skateboard park at 21a Commercial Road, Coxside (behind the Vue Cinema complex). This is just a short walk from the city centre. For more information call 01752 224360.
We are now in the process of selecting contractors to work with park users in designing a new skateboard park which will be located on the land west of the swimming pool, next to the metal ramp.
If you have any queries about the replacement of the skateboard park contact Catherine Dilloway on 01752 305440.
