Skatepark Pages @ The Eden Project Sessions
“You will recognise the bloke who does it, he’s the one with 1 f@*king
HUGE leg walking in circles” – Alex’s response to Aaron
www.skateparkpages.com and The Eden Project Sessions 2009 teamed up on Saturday 4th July 2009 for the first of 2 skateboard demo's at this world famous venue. This was the 2nd time we had organised an event at Eden, the first being a skateboard and BMX workshop a few months previously.
I had really been looking forward to this visit as this could be the start of something special and unique.
"Dreams can come true" (sung to the tune of Gabrielle's pop cringer) - Derek and Lucien on Lucien landing yet another savage variation on his wheelie stick
That pretty much summed up the day for me.
Imagine this....
Your sound a fook boss at work lets you build 4No 8ft x 2ft x 2ft grind boxes and then pays for them. Then he then lets you take them to the Eden Project in the work van and leave them there for you to use when ever you like. You then arrange for 10 mates to go skateboarding all afternoon (wearing their new fresh Prime apparel which was given to them FREE earlier in the day) at Eden in front of the very impressive Core building and even more impressive Biomes.
You arrive, given a staff wrist band, free entry, all to find out you get your own downhill Eden path lined with grind blocks, HD cameras and a live 9 Piece junk band - Big Beat fresh from Glastonbury to accompany your grind variations (more attractions are around every corner or should that be curve?) Like You sesh the blocks with your bro's, you witness sic manoeuvre after sic manoeuvre to a point your "blink mind camera"(patent pending) becomes close to saturation point, hours pass, bloody nice chips, blood, slides and beers pass you by like the moody clouds cloaking your fully surreal skate venue, you exit briefly to a blazin mini ramp sesh then back to Eden to collect your free beer tokens and rock out to a sell out Kasabian gig supported by The Hours, landing about 6 rows back surrounded by your revealing, smiling mates who are wearing green Mario like moustaches, obviously, and generally convulsing rhythmically / having it. On the way out the organiser of the Eden sessions says he really needs you come back on the 18th of July to do it all again but this time with the Kooks and Lady Hawke.
WTF!
Exactly.
For now enjoy these nuggets from Dan P (pics) and Kristian (sketches).

Serious Big Up's must go out to Phil, John, Martin, Danny, Dan, Bry, Lucien, Derek, Tommy, Kristian, Pete, Si and Aaron for all their contributions to making it a day that will live for a long time in my fading memory banks. Bring on the 18th...FIRE!

This just in from a man like Tricksta...
DJ EASY Presents MANNY MOSCOW ‘From London To Berlin’
London rapper Manny Moscow has been really making a name for himself of late, with a succession of solid releases under his belt. After dropping his ‘Three Track Excursion EP’ back in October last year, he hooked up with Tricksta from UK Runnings to drop his debut mixtape ‘Live From The Kremlin’ at the end of April. Since then he has featured on mixtapes from the likes of DJ Ames and DJ Drama (USA), as well as being the host for LATE’s ‘Underground Exposure Volume 7’ mixtape. Now in July he drops his second mixtape with one Germany’s most talented DJ’s… DJ Easy from Berlin, Germany.
This mixtape features a selection of exclusives, produced tracks and freestyles and once again is something hot from this talented UK rapper. Producers involved in the project include Mr. Bills, Spectral, 9Lives, J Romes, Loko from Hill Productions and of course Tricksta from UK Runnings and Wolftown Recordings, as well as guest verses from LATE, Conman and Shepherd. This twenty-one track mixtape really is a great display of MC and DJ skills working in harmony. This special edition CD will be available for FREE download from all the usual spots and is already making noise in England and Germany.
Next up from Manny Moscow is a mixtape with the UK mixtape messiah DJ Ames called ‘No Games’. Things are really hotting up for Manny Moscow and with this brand new mixtape from the talented DJ Easy it’s so easy to see why he’s having that international appeal.
