The Boomtown mayor is known for his generosity and with a stocking rammed full of gifts, discounts, prizes and priceless opportunities, it’s time to put down the mulled cider and jump head first into the Boomtown Christmas bonanza! This veritable bounty of greatness consists of: launch of the brand new Boomfactor, prizes for best headliners suggestions, opportunities to create a new part of Boomtown, discount early bird tickets and the only Christmas compilation album any self-respecting Boomtowner will be needing this year; the Boomtown Christmas Album! If anyone’s running low on Christmas ideas, Boomtown is a one-stop-shop for all things quirky, creative and coveted! With the first wave of Super Early Bird tickets a selling out in just 15 minutes, there are now a limited number of Early Bird tickets on sale for just £97, and for all those eager to catch the worm, if you book your tickets before 20th December Boomtown will bung a cheeky little festive thank you in the post! Boomtown is a hub of creativity and annually showcases emerging talent, 2012 sees them expand on this ethos by launching the Boomfactor, a competition for REAL music! The winner will showcase their prowess on the Main Stage at the festival, with runners up performing on one of the smaller stages. Entry is free; simply send an MP3 of one song (under 4 mins) to boomfactor@boomtownfair.co.uk by Christmas eve 2011. A shortlist will then be put to the public vote on the Boomtown facebook page. The bands with the most votes will be put through to the heats. The winners of each of the heats will then thrash it out in THE FINAL BATTLE!! Watch this space for more details... If picking, rather than playing the music is your forte then Boomtown has just the competition! Running through facebook will be the ultimate, Create Your Own Headliners comp. Whoever suggests the headlining artist will go in to a draw and one winner will be plucked from random to win a pair of residency passes to the town and also the opportunity to meet the artist backstage and have a photo taken for posterity! Simply pop along to http://on.fb.me/BoomtownComp or http://bit.ly/boom-mobile and enter three headliner choices (one per box) and watch out for the big announcement on 1st February.

At the Town Hall a sense of community is all important and they’re offering the chance for Boomtowners to create their own neighbourhood in the suburban campsite districts. Each hood will have its own theme, provide a service and create a space for the greater community. I.e. a workshop, activity or a crazy interactive invention - the only limit is imagination! The best hood will win a prize. Only the best ideas will be given the go ahead so get those creative cogs clicking and thinking caps on! For more details please visit the website. Finally rounding up the Boomtown festive fare is the inaugural, ambitiously unique, Boomtown Charity Christmas Album! Due for release very soon, the album will feature tracks from Boomtown’s favourite artists including Babyhead, Gypsy Unit, First Degree Burns and Smerin’s Anti Social Club with all proceeds going to charity. The album will be available to pre-order via the online store from Friday 9th December. Boomtown Fair returns in 2012 over the weekend of 9 – 12th August, for more info or to buy tickets visit: www.boomtownfair.com
